In 1982 Steve Penner founded the dating service LunchDates, matching up single men and women from all over metropolitan Boston and New England. As he interviewed and listened to feedback from thousands of members, Steve absorbed quite a bit of information about what men and women are looking for in one another.

Steve was always amazed at how misinformed and “off-base” so many educated and professional men and women are about the opposite sex, having absolutely no idea where they stand in the social “marketplace.” In other words they don't understand their "Dating Quotient." (DQ) That is, what it means to be bald, to be separated rather than divorced, to be tall or short, to have older children versus younger children, to smoke cigarettes, etc., etc.

In 2005 Steve sold his interest in LunchDates and decided to pass on what he had learned over two plus decades. He currently writes a newspaper column called "The Truth About Dating," teaches workshops all over New England, and serves as a Dating Coach to those who need the secrets of dating revealed.
